Almost every web browser has a Google Translate extension to translate words or sentences that are not in our language. But those only provide functionally for web applications.

While the platform preview of Internet Explorer 10 is available for use with windows 7, the users of vista or XP won’t be able to use the latest release of the still widely used Microsoft Internet Explorer even when the final release is made.

The surprise announcement came when computer world’s Gregg Keizer contacted Microsoft to find out about its plan for supporting IE 10 in windows Vista.

Microsoft confirmed that the latest release will only support windows 7 by giving the following email response:

Windows Vista customers have a great browsing experience with IE9, but in building IE10 we are focused on continuing to drive the kind of innovation that only happens when you take advantage of the ongoing improvements in modern operating systems and modern hardware.

Although vista is no longer the OS of choice for both business or individual users. Globally, however XP is still the most widely used OS. The lack of the latest IE support or any other applications makes windows XP users the bigger sufferers.


If users try to install IE 10 Platform preview on windows vista they will get an error message and the installer will shuts down.

Internet downloads, photos transferred from your digital camera and the documents you create on daily basis get scattered on your desktop and across irrelevant folders on your drive if you don’t usually save it the right folders, the first time you download or create it.

If you received a file from someone with an unknown file extension that you don't know how to open it. Don't get stuck. Here are a couple of things you can do to determine the format of a file.

Unknown File Type Identification:

Online TrID File Identifier can determine a file type from its binary signatures. Simply select the file to analyze and in a moment the identification results will be displayed. A GUI version is also available for download in case there is a need to analyze large files.

Many times when you download a game or a software you will get it as an ISO image, which is just an image of the actual CD drive. If you’ve just downloaded an ISO image, here is how you can use it.

There are two methods to run an ISO Image.

1. Write it on a CD or DVD.
   
2. Mount ISO files as a virtual CD/DVD drive.

Method 1:Write ISO files on a CD or DVD

In windows XP / Vista:

1. Download and install Infra Recorder.
   
2. Insert a blank DVD / CD (Depending upon the size of the file).
   
3. Open Infra Recorder and click: 'Write Image'.
   
   
   
4. Select the ISO/image file you want to use, then click 'Open'.
   
5. In the dialog box, click 'OK'.
   

In Windows 7:

1. Insert a blank DVD / CD (Depending upon the size of the file).
   
2. Right-click on the ISO file and choose 'Burn disc image'.

Method 2: Mount ISO files as a virtual CD/DVD drive

In windows XP / Vista / 7:

1. Download and install Daemon Tools Lite.
   
2. Run the setup and select ‘free version’.
   
3. From the Choose component window uncheck all options except ‘Start Menu Shortcut’.
   
4. Uncheck ‘Send Anonymous Usage Statistics’ and click finish.
   
5. Now click the Add file icon and select the file to ISO file to mount.
   
6. Click Mount or Double-Click the file to Mount.
