How To Use An ISO Image File

ISO-imageMany times when you download a game or a software you will get it as an ISO image, which is just an image of the actual CD drive. If you’ve just downloaded an ISO image, here is how you can use it.

There are two methods to run an ISO Image.
  1. Write it on a CD or DVD.
  2. Mount ISO files as a virtual CD/DVD drive.
Method 1:Write ISO files on a CD or DVD

In windows XP / Vista:
  1. Download and install Infra Recorder.
  2. Insert a blank DVD / CD (Depending upon the size of the file).
  3. Open Infra Recorder and click: 'Write Image'.

  4. Select the ISO/image file you want to use, then click 'Open'.
  5. In the dialog box, click 'OK'.
In Windows 7:
  1. Insert a blank DVD / CD (Depending upon the size of the file).
  2. Right-click on the ISO file and choose 'Burn disc image'.
Method 2: Mount ISO files as a virtual CD/DVD drive

In windows XP / Vista / 7:
  1. Download and install Daemon Tools Lite.
  2. Run the setup and select ‘free version’.
  3. From the Choose component window uncheck all options except ‘Start Menu Shortcut’.
  4. Uncheck ‘Send Anonymous Usage Statistics’ and click finish.
  5. Now click the Add file icon add-fileand select the file to ISO file to mount.
  6. Click Mount mount-file or Double-Click the file to Mount.
